The schedule is a little bit out-of-sorts around The Matinee this week.
There’s a Blind Spot dropping tomorrow, a Halloween post hitting on Thursday, and an awful lot of personal matters to tend to on the nights in between. You probably don’t keep track of things, but if you do, apologies for setting the playlist to “shuffle” this week.
Now that we are officially knee-deep in Marvel’s “Phase Two”, one has to believe that the pressure is truly on. We have put to bed most of the origin stories, we have most of the pieces on the board, and we’ve seen what they can do when they’re all brought together. The question many of us have asked since the credits rolled on THE AVENGERS is “now what”.
I’m one of those who felt like IRON MAN 3 was a great first step, but who knows whether Marvel can keep up the momentum.
If this first glimpse of the next CAPTAIN AMERICA chapter us any indicator, maybe we have less to worry about than I thought…
I am very excited. Against all odds (a super good superhero, expecting it to be “too” American etc.), I loved the first one. I can watch it at any given point of time. And like the first with its period settings, this seems to be also taking an interesting POV with spies and government and all that. Plus, it’s nice to see Black Widow back. She’s the coolest.
Funny thing – I’m often drawn to the heroes that are super good. For some reason I’m inspired by their nobility. Like you, I was all the more intrigued when Black Widow showed up – hopefully the film puts her to good use again!
Cap and Thor have been my favorites of the Marvel Universe, I anticipate that those two series will continue to be strongest.
Know what’s weird? Now that Ruffalo’s part of the gang, I’m anxious to see another Hulk movie.
