I know, I know, trailers are usually a Wednesday thing around here, but I need to shuffle things around a bit this week.
You might recall in episode forty of The Matineecast that my friend Kelly named MY WEEK WITH MARILYN as one of her five most anticipated films of the fall. During that episode I whole-heartedly agreed with her, mentioning how it seems as though Michelle Williams can do no wrong these days.
Well here we are some six weeks later and the film has been the subject of a Vogue magazine photo spread, and now finally has a full trailer. Having soaked up all of that, I must say that my interest in the film has climbed a few rungs…
I loved the trailer and Michele Williams looks great. I especially love her eyes. I have always been intrigued by the idea of the “real Marilyn Monroe” and this film shows promise. But apparently it isn’t that good also, or so I have read.
I haven’t caught wind of any prevailing opinion, so right now I’d say the jury is still very much “out”.
And am I misled or is this not a film that’s very much up your alley?
Looks like an intriguing love story, much more so than I thought it would be. From what I hear, receptions has been good enough that the Weinstein Company is pushing the release date back to a pre-Thanksgiving slot.
Hmmm…wonder if the stars could align for another Oscar nomination for Williams?
I loved this trailer when I saw it for the first time. I can’t even express what it made me feel. I don’t remember when I was that affected by a simple trailer. I expect an AA nod for Miss Williams.
She certainly seems to be bringing the goods. My anticipation for this film was stoked that much higher with The Weinsteins delaying it a few weeks.
