Investigations into his death are still ongoing, relatives found him next to an active treadmill this afternoon.Hayes was known for movie roles in ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK and I’M GONNA GET YOU SUCKA. Newer audiences would know him more from his work as the voice of Chef on South Park. His work as a musician is even more legendary, as he wrote the soul hits “Hold On, I’m Comin“, “Soul Man”, and most famously “The Theme from Shaft”.
Hayes was 65.
