Are you like me, and don’t completely believe the story that Steven Soderbergh is retiring soon? I’m not trying to suggest that I don’t think he’s serious…I’m only perplexed by the thought of one of Hollywood’s most prolific directors doing anything else with his time.
Well if he is to be believed, and he is in fact putting down his camera, then what we have here is the trailer for his final theatrical feature film. Making matters so much stranger, if I didn’t know this film was Soderbergh, I’d be skipping it entirely because this trailer isn;t doing it any favours.
Bloody shame. I don’t really mind the trailer, save all the Channing Tatum in it.
How dare you talk that way abut the Sexiest Man Alive…
Trailer looks solid to me. I love a good ‘YOU WRECKED MY FUCKING LIFE’ conspiracy movie.
The film looks good to me, the trailer not so much. That said, the last year or two have been a long syllabus in not buying a film based on its trailer.
I want to see this in spite of Channing Tatum.
C’mon…what did magic Mike ever do to you? (I kid, of course)
I feel a little underwhelmed by it, but I felt that way about the Haywire trailer and the trailer for Magic Mike too.
Weird the way that happens, ain’t it?
I will never believe that Soderbergh is going to retire until he actually retires. The rest of the time I’m just going to assume that he’s a big lying liar.
Also, this looks great.
I’m with you – I’m actually hoping that he’s a big lying liar!
Oh, absolutely. I’ll be upset if he’s actually telling the truth.
I really hope Soderbergh changes his mind, he may be responsible for unleashing Tatum but he still makes some of the clasiest and elegant movies around. As for this one I can’t wait to see Rooney on the big screen again.
I hope so too. maybe it’ll all be for naught like Jay-Z.
