Here’s what I learned last night:
Trying to schedule your TIFF selections + Brand new HDTV service
= Amazing lack of concentration.
I got through it eventually, and find myself rather happy with how everything might play out. As usual there are a handful of conflicts, but in going through the program book and the schedule, two things jumped out at me.
First, I’m rather thankful for the addition of the AMC screens, since it now means that pretty much every film has three screenings this year rather than the usual two. Second, it seems that festival programmers have begun to realize what a downer that final Saturday is, since they’ve loaded it up with third screenings of a lot of the big titles.
Anyway, for what it’s worth, here are the twenty flicks I’ll be trying to see. Later in the day, I’ll add links to each title so you can see what they’re all about.

Dropping off my selections tomorrow – say a prayer to the popcorn Gods for me!
I HAVE to hear about New York, I Love You and Zack & Miri Make a Porno. Don’t fail me, Hatter! 😀
And Che.
Whoa, bring out the big guns! You picked some hearty selections there. I will cross my fingers for ya!
Did you see that the all-in-one-go Che screening was at the Ryerson? I can’t imagine… no food allowed, freezing theatre and not comfy. I’d bring a blanky if I was going!
Heh…Actually Shannon, that grandiose, bladder testing, hunger fighting, four hour showing is the one I have my eye on.
There’s NO way I’ll pay $80 to see this sucker in two parts, so it’s Friday morning or bust as far as CHE goes.
I’ve done it before though, two fests ago I managed WHEN THE LEVEES BROKE, so I know I can hack it.
The question is – will I get a ticket??
Wow, you are one brave soul Hatter! I hope you get your selections!
Please review ‘Slum Dog Millionaire’ ASAP.
