One of the things I love about summertime is the concept of outdoor screenings. Such events harken back to the hey-day of the drive-in movie, and just make everything a bit more novel for two hours or so. In my hometown of Toronto, there have been a handful of outdoor screenings over the years, but the series that seems to be continuing with the most success is the screening series that happens every summer at Dundas Square.
The programmers of the screenings try to settle on a theme every year. A few years back it was monster movies. Year before last it was musicals. last summer it was sci-fi. This summer they have decided to make the series a date night, and chosen nine romantic movies to screen every Tuesday night.
