Even the best laid plans of mice and men.
During the last episode, you might have heard me allude to episode seventy-four as being “a special episode” for The Matineecast. It is, which is to say that it brings in two returning guests and strays from the usual rhythm of the show…however, I had originally planned to take the episode off and hand it over to my guests completely.
Things change, especially during this very busy time of year, and one can only roll with the changes. So while we have eschewed the usual rhythm of The Christmas Episode, there are still a few Christmas touches to this episode.
Pulling this off took a bit more effort than usual, and for that I have my friends to thank.
Here’s what’s in store in episode seventy-four…

Gah I have to watch this film in 24 fps. I hated 48 fps so much. It is too real- absolutely no magic.
The dreamy dwarf is Kili!
I love Martin Freeman too. When I read the book (even though I knew he had been cast in the role of Bilbo), I couldn’t help but imagine him in the role.
I liked Thorin a lot too. I thought he was Aragorn-ish too, even though he is a bitch in the book.
The running looked like it belonged to a TV movie, from the 90s.
Apparently Avatar 2 and 3 will be in 60 fps. I don’t know how I feel about it.
I love Hitchhikers! But the book is infinitely awesomer. I have this thing about marrying Martin Freeman because he is Arthur Dent, Dr. John Watson and Bilbo Baggins and marrying him is like marrying literature.
I am against King Kong on principle- why, o why would a woman choose a giant ape over Adrien Brody? Not acceptable. I like Lovely Bones though.
I’m with Brown on the Knightley/Deschanel versus segment.
I’m with Lindsay on 48fps. It is DREADFUL.
