I feel I should address something before you tune-in for this week’s episode. A moment that got cut from this episode, and something that came up two episodes prior, is mention of who has and hasn’t been a guest on this show.

To any of my friends, and any past or future guests: Please don’t take offence if you haven’t been on the show (or likewise if you haven’t been back).

Between alternating male and female guests, tossing in a returnee every third show, wanting to vary up the source (not too many in a row via Skype, not too many in a row here at home), hoping to only keep the shows dropping bi-weekly…and considering people’s tastes and how they relate to the films being released, there is a fair amount of OCD that goes into choosing who’s on when for this show.

In short, if you read and listen to my thoughts from this space, you’re very special to me. Yes, I probably already have thought about bringing you on to do a Matineecast…I just haven’t arrived at your turn just yet.

Here’s what’s in store in the Reggie Jackson episode…

  1. Pshhht… I’m offended 😛

We good Hatter. I’ll catch up with this ep when I see the film I guess. Hasn’t been released here yet. Upset me when it magically disappeared from the release schedule a week to release.

  2. Since political films aren’t my scene either, I was surprised how much I liked Ides. But I love Clooney as a director too.

Nice “betrayals.” Sounded like a good excuse to just rant for half an hour 🙂 My biggest movie betrayals happen when I sit down to a classic film I’ve heard praised all my life and I end up hating it, which happens more often than not.

  3. Listening now – Steve! Your a STAR WARS fan? Check out my posts on the films, I’d love to here your opinion on them.

I haven’t seen IDES OF MARCH so I can’t really comment much more. Suffice to say, Im not a big fan of Ryan Gosling. I think too many people LOVE him and he doesn’t deserve as much praise as he is getting.

    1. Steve is a *huge* STAR WARS fan…I’ll be sure to send him your links.

After everything Gosling has been in this year, w=you still aren’t on-board with the Baby Goose? Did BLUE VALENTINE and CRAZY STUPID LOVE not win you over?
