Interesting news from Warner Brothers today concerning the Harry Potter franchise. While the sixth film in the series is currently filming and slated for release this November, much of Potter fans’ attention has been focused on what would happen with the final film.
The seventh book, which was released last summer and ended the series, was over six hundred pages long…and much of it is rather intricate in properly finishing the story. So what would get cut out? Which subplot (and there aren’t many) would get left by the way side in the interest of giving the film a shorter running time than GONE WITH THE WIND.
Well good new Potter fans! Warner has announced that the final story will in fact be stretched into two films! The first will hit screens in November of 2010, with the second to follow in May of 2011.
