Finally, after a long string of successful mornings – my luck finally ran out. I went to The Manulife Centre box office this morning, looking to grab a same-day ticket for my younger brother to see LARS AND THE REAL GIRL. “Sorry” the friendly volunteer told me “sold out”. I looked at my watch that told me it was ten after seven – guess this is what happens when a film starts getting some buzz huh? The ticket wasn’t actually for me, and I’m not certain if that makes things better or worse.
So with all the negative reactions surrounding NOTHING IS PRIVATE, I’ve decided to ditch my ticket for its Saturday night screening. I’m told it is the only film to get an official complaint from a patron so far, and I’ve heard nothing but bad things. I don’t want to end what’s been such a great fest on a film like that. I’m going to try and score tickets to JOY DIVISION for me and the missus instead.
A few photos before I go…
