It’s a sure sign of summer if we start getting glimpses of a new Woody Allen movie.
I was pretty deep in the minority when I enjoyed last summer’s offering – MAGIC IN THE MOONLIGHT – so I guess asking whether this might be a step up or a step down is a rather subjective query. That said, let’s assume for a moment that the up-down-up-down rhythm Woody has been on ever since MIDNIGHT IN PARIS is due to go up again…
…that would be good news, wouldn’t it?
I think it looks really good. I love both Phoenix and Stone and I think both their POVs are going to be shown in the movie (at least that’s what I got from the trailer). Plus, Parker Posey!
Well sure, but Woody Allen movie trailers *always* look good, don’t they?
It would be good news. I’ve noticed the pattern, although I was worried the films that weren’t so great were set in England. But then I remembered Whatever Works (for that film, nothing) was set in New York, so I might be wrong on that …
Parker + Phoenix = me getting very excited about this film.
Now now – don’t be a patriot: Woody’s films set in Spain and France were glorious too.
I was a little worried when I realized he was back home filming in America again, but then I remembered how much I loved BLUE JASMINE.
