Whenever a bio-pic of this sort comes along, I find myself curious about how it’s going to shake down. I ask this as CONCUSSION plays on the television in front of me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not looking for every bio-pic to be HUNGER (when everything is special, nothing is)…but there’s a world of difference between HUNGER and CONCUSSION.
Without a doubt, this is a story worth telling…and anytime we are able to get actresses like Octavia Spencer and Taraji Henson in the same project at the same time.
But will this be true representation? Or will this be another moment of people of colour are typecast into a particular box?
Love the cast so looking forward to this film, even though the ‘untold true story’ is seen quite often, I’, still excited about it.
