In preparing for my appearance on The Directors Club last weekend, I listened to several of their back episodes…including their interesting discussion on Tim Burton.
I don’t have the same dislike for Burton that Jim and Patrick do, but I don’t fall all over myself for him the way I did when I was younger. I suppose the best way to sum it up now is that I appreciate the man’s kookiness, and his wild imagination, and try to overlook the flaws in his storytelling. Speaking of his storytelling, I really hope he can get back to telling original stories instead of adapting every outcast story he loved as a kid.
At least with FRANKENWEENIE, he’s adapting his own outcast story. It’s a step…
