For the last year or so, nobody has had anything good to say about the Fantastic Four reboot shaking down at Fox. Part of that comes from its cast being a squad of relative nobodies (names known to film fans, but no one beyond that)…part of that comes from the malaise those first two films left us with.
So it’s easy to understand why the first trailer’s unveiling might be met with a collective shrug.
But then something funny happened…the trailer dropped yesterday and it felt…familiar…really familiar.
I don’t think this is any sort of indicator of what the ultimate product might be like, but it feels as though this is the second time this month that a comic book trailer has dropped and left us all scratching our heads and muttering “huh?”.
Perhaps the bubble is closer to breaking than we thought…
