So the good news is that thanks to fandango’s little blogging kumbaya, I’m following more spaces by the day. The bad news is that by following so many spaces, I’m starting to short-change many of you by not actually reading your posts too closely. For that I must apologize, and promise to try harder.
Another weekend is upon us, another podcast is on deck, and we’ve taken another big step closer to Hot Docs. Y’all tired of hearing me talk about it yet? i sure hope not, because I have a lot of material planned to post when the festival arrives, and it’d be a shame if it didn’t live up to the hype. Y’know, sorta like the return of Glee this week.
Oh, before I forget, one little favour. I realized this week, I had been slacking on some housekeeping. So if you’re a blogger who has a link to my page posted in your blogroll, and I don’t have you in mine, please let me know so I can fix that. On with the show…
For your reading fulfillment, I give you…

I meant to watch 2001 for the 1001 Film Club this week – the week just got away from me though. Thankfully, Simon over at Screen Insight watched it. Here’s his take on the Kubrick classic.

Enjoy!
Nice posts, a couple I even had pegged for my monday corner (may leave them, may not, not sure).
I know how you feel about having so many to follow. I think I'm following over a 100 now :\. The truth is I pick about 10 that I absolutely make sure to visit and read and, if I have something to say, comment. The rest I sort of gaze over when I have the time, reading what they've written since my last visit.
Thanks for the shout-out, Hatter! It's awesome to get to know other movie bloggers but yeah, I feel that I can barely catching up with all of 'em! I apologize too, for not commenting on your Desert Island picks sooner!
(Cough, looks sadly at Blogroll)
You can't beat your self up too much MH, its always better to create.
(pondering why not on the blogroll)
I feel you, Hatter… I just returned to work last week and I can't read up or comment on half the blogs I normally follow. And you're on my blogroll but no worries… you earned it. 😉
I'm having a hard time keeping up with the blogs that aren't a part of the "family" on my blog list. I'm trying, but in the same boat. I often spend more time visiting than writing and that's not good either.
Of these mentioned posts, I really enjoyed the Ross's. It's an interesting concept to think about when most of us do commit to watching an entirety of a film to be base a fair review, but sometimes you just can't!
@ Univarn… It's a double edged sword. It's good to support everyone else, but one ends up feeling like a schmuck as the social circle grows. Oh well, I don't hear any complaints so far.
@ RTM… No worries on being late to my desert island party – lord knows there were a lot of lists to read through!
@ Bryce… Well said, and consider yerself added!
@ Movienut… Small oversight, likewise consider yourself added.
@ The List… Take a day off and you feel like you've missed so much, doncha? Thanks for giving me a spot on your blogroll, the honour has now been returned.
Thanks Hatter! this whole film blog thing is so crazy and, judging by LAMBS over 500 mark, it seemes mental how many people do this!
Thanks again!
Simon
cheers for the linkage Hats
Hats off to you, as it were.
yeah, its hard enough writing our own crappy blog nevermind getting round to the quality you guys come up with out there
im trying very hard though
The only way you can survive in the blog-following-universe is to not worry about what you've missed. There is simply too much (both good and bad) to keep up with. I've really fallen behind on staying with the bigger sites like The Auteurs (and David Hudson's awesome compiling of links) and Twitch and I admittedly hold off on some of the longer articles since they aren't easy to browse and digest over lunch at work. I have 109 sites in my Google Reader and there are many more that I just simply haven't addedbecause of time constraints. As Bryce said, as long as you're contributing with content (and the occasional comment on something that tweaks your fancy) and staying passionate about it, then the blogging world will continue to embrace you…
Thanks for the Hot Docs link…I'm on my 5th screener and haven't reviewed anything yet – I should probably get on top of that. I think I've picked the theatrical screenings I want as well, so I'll follow up with you on that later…
@ Simon… Anytime bro, even if you are getting handily beaten at the film trivia these days, I always look forward to your fine work!
@ Ross… It's all about balance, right? I think that all things being equal, this little community of ours supports each other quite nicely. Keep up the good work.
@ Bob… Yeah, try as I might, I can't read 'em all – and neither can everybody else read everything I write, right? (right, write)
Can't wait for this fest to begin in earnest – hopefully by the time it does, I won't have already overexposed everyone to the point of boredom!
I like Ruth's list and am on the level with most of it. But thanks so much for the link/shout-out Hatter!
Also, for the times in the past where I was remiss in expressing my gratitude (is that why I'm still not on the blogroll?) please accept these three clever smile icon as back-pay –
😮 ) =0] ;^)
Look out, I'm a crafty text-wielding wizard:P
