Thoughts from your host…
It comes up at one point during the show, but when I look back on 2015 I don’t exactly see “a great year”. In my estimation “a great year” involves several future masterpieces…a cluster of home runs, if you will. Now while I don’t believe that 2015 had many of those, I do believe that there were an awful lot of triples, and doubles to the corner. Selections I believed to be really good…if not quite “great”.
Still, I would happily take a year like 2015 with all of its wonderful offerings and cinematic nourishment. Heck, when you get four of us around a table to talk about our top films and we pick sixteen different titles for twenty slots, you know there was a lot to cheer from.
So pour a glass of champagne and grab yourself a noisemaker…it’s time for a family affair.
As usual, if you’re curious about the songs used as bed music, the track list can be found above in the show notes.
As mentioned within the introduction, if you find the bed music distracting, a music-free version of this episode can be found here.
Thanks for tuning in to episode one-hundred-and-fifty, and all the best for the new year…

I gotta say, I’m a woman and I thought Carol was beautifully film, acted and there were a few stand out scenes, particularly the final scene at the lawyers when Carol gives her little speech. I also found it heartbreaking becuase it wasn’t over the top, alot was said with just looks. Great film.
