Greetings from the First Nation of Hockey!
I usually don’t post trailers until Wednesday, but with tomorrow being dedicated to Blind Spots, and the rest of the week being Oscar-centric around these parts, things are a bit out-of-joint.
I caught this trailer before a screening of POMPEII yesterday (speaking of which: don’t do it), and it gave me so much more in 2.5 minutes than the feature that followed would give in 100. I’d hoped to catch it at TIFF, but when that didn’t happen – I promised myself to keep my eyes open. After all, the man who made one of my very favorite Canadian films is worth keeping up with!
So as The Winter of Our Discontent continues, here’s a hope that films like this are signs that the thaw will arrive in just a few weeks.
Having seen the film at Canada’s Top Ten, I can tell you that trailer is somewhat hiding the fact that ENEMY is much less straight-forward than it appears. In fact, I didn’t really know what to think of the film.
I’m surprised the the trailer was put before a mainstream film like POMPEII (I saw the trailer before it too), since this is definitely NOT a film for mainstream consumption.
