After some post-TIFF time to recover, it’s time to get this space back up and running. What better way to do that than by turning on the mic?
I ended TIFF with a film called KINGS, that I decided not to write about because I didn’t feel like there was much to say. The upside of KNGS was that I got to watch it sitting next to one of my favorite people in the community; Mister Courtney Small. Then, as luck would have it, the very next night I found myself on his podcast that he co-hosts with Andrew Hathaway.
Small world, ain’t it?
It was my pleasure last week to drop by Changing Reels during a stretch of shows dedicated to sports movies. We spent the time discussing Ryan Coogler’s CREED. The Changing Reels format promotes discussion of short films as well as features, so before we got to “Rocky Seven” we got into some rather insightful conversation about the short sports films WHEN I REPLACED CAMILLE and STANDING 8.
Everything on this episode allowed for some really insightful conversation, so I am honoured that Andrew and Courtney asked me by.
The episode can be found here. Any comments about how wrong I am can be left below.
