I’m in the mood for a movie tonight, just not entirely sure which one. At the moment, I find myself trying to decide between 30 DAYS OF NIGHT and RENDITION…..which is sort of like asking yourself “Do I want steak for dinner or a baloney sandwich?”
Now, I’m not trying to say that one of these movies will be infinitely better than the other – I haven’t seen them, how could I know? I just mean to say that they are so different, which is probably what’s making my decision even harder. It’s not like I’m trying to decide between 3:10 TO YUMA and THE ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES, right? Do I want to be scared, or do I want to be intrigued? In the past I might flip to a review or two of a critic I trusted, but ever since I started writing my own, I stopped reading other peoples’ opinions before I see for myself. And it looks like I’ll be going alone, so I can’t even defer to a group consensus. What’s an indecisive movie lover to do??!!
Y’know, I think I’ll just make things easy on myself and go for the one that starts first. Kinda curious, if you had to pick one movie currently in theatres – which would you see?
Opening in Theatres Today…
- THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS in 3-D (Can’t go wrong there)
- THINGS WE LOST IN THE FIRE (This is why you shouldn’t smoke in bed)
- RESERVATION ROAD (Reviewed in the previous post)
- RENDITION (Reese gets serious)
- MY KID COULD PAINT THAT (But she’s all out of yellow)
- GONE BABY GONE (Boston grittiness brought to you by the Brothers Affleck)
- THE COMEBACKS (There isn‘t enough money in the world)
I am yet to hear anything really good about Rendition, and I know a few people that saw it at fest.
Go with the vampires.
oh, and a link to my zip blog in your sidebar would be nice.
I’ve heard not-good things about Rendition. I think 30 Days of Night will be the box office winner this weekend, so go with the mases. 🙂
I’m thinking 30 Days and/or Gone Baby Gone for me tomorrow. I also still want to see Reservation Road and Into The Wild, both of which I missed at the fest and both of which are playing at theatres near me.
Would it be wrong to see all 4 in a single day? That’d be wrong, wouldn’t it? Yeah. I’ll just go see one…or…two…
