The last twenty-five summers of my life have continually revolved around one building in Toronto. It’s been the staging ground for much frustration, occasionally some true joy, and almost always three hours of time-well-spent…be it the twilight of a humid evening, or the warm bask of a summer afternoon.
So you can imagine the smile on my face when I got to record a podcast from a perch overlooking my own personal field of dreams.
Inspired by a fleeting moment when it looked like our hometown team was going to make some postseason noise, Jamie Dew gathered a few of us to The Rogers Centre – home of The Toronto Blue Jays – to do a special episode of The Dew Over. In this case, rather than discuss a year in Oscar history, we hashed out five films chosen by Baseball America as the best baseball films of all time.
As if rolling tape at the ballyard wasn’t cool enough, Jamie brought on some very special guests that I enjoyed sharing a mic with – namely Andrew Stoeten of Drunk Jays Fans, and Mike Wilner who hosts the JaysTalk – the Blue Jays postgame show.
So buy yourself some peanuts and crackerjack and find yourself a reserved seat along one of the baselines.
The episode can beĀ found here. Any comments about how wrong I am can be left below.
