There’s a new dog in the podcasting yard interested in looking back on the films of the past. Specifically, the conversation swirls around various years in Oscar history and whether or not Oscar “got it right”.
The show is called The Dew Over, and if you aren’t already listening to it, you should be.
I was lucky enough to be invited on to the 1993 discussion, which is widely seen as a year where Oscar did indeed get things right (I dare you to argue otherwise). You might think that such a moment would lead to very little to talk about, but that turns out not to be the case. The six of us gathered (!) dig deep into subjects like REMAINS OF THE DAY, THE FUGITIVE, and even some films that didn’t get much love like SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE and JURASSIC PARK.
The episode can be found here. Any comments about how wrong I am can be left below.
