I am decidedly less interested in Peter Jackson’s Hobbit Trilogy than I was before his first film in the series dropped last Christmas. Even back before that first film, I wasn’t entering into it with high anticipations.
So with the arrival of this new trailer, I am left in a quandary. Sure, some of the visuals in this clip lead to certain levels of excitement…but am I ready to spend another three hours spreading a little bit of jam over too much toast?
Guess you’ll have to ask me again in December…
I did want to watch this a lot before the trailer hit. I am kind of concerned with the lack of Bilbo in it. I loved the book because of him, but this trailer oddly features more Legolas (who wasn’t even in the book, mind you) than Bilbo. I will watch the film but in 2D this time. I’m going to avoid the 3D like plague.
I reckon the lack of Bilbo just comes down to the cut of this trailer. The shop that cut it was probably more jacked about giving fans a look at the characters they *didn’t* see last time around than building up the ones they did (Armitage and McKellan don’t get much screen time either).
Like the last time, I intend to watch this in glorious 24fps 2-D
