One somewhat frustrating thing about being a festival patron is the way it calls so many more films to your attention. These are titles that seem like they’ll be really solid watches, but inevitably grow roots on your watchlist.
One such selection was a great looking French Canadian film called STARBUCK, about a man who was responsible for scores and scores of offspring from artificial insemination. My wife saw it and recommended it highly, but like so many other festival recommendations, I never have got back around to it.
Well now I might want to double my efforts since it is being remade in english as a Vince Vaughn comedy.
Have any of you fine folks seen STARBUCK? And could this new version possibly live up?
I saw STARBUCK and you might be better off seeing that, since this remake looks much more mainstream (though it might still be funny). Interesting to note is that this is one of the few remakes to be directed by the same director as the original (in this case being Ken Scott).
I think I’m more interesting in seeing Starbuck because I’m kind of finished watching Vince Vaughn who is no longer funny to watch anymore.
