So there was me thinking that I had gone another week without watching a whole lot of movies. Then I sat up this morning and realized it had been a double-digit week, and one with multiple screenings. This despite a night of podcasting, an evening of music, and a lot of reading done.
I also caught up with that big ‘ol box office sensation, which was actually better than I thought it would be…if not obviously flawed.
This week could be more of the same, and even has a Blindspot to get to.
Maybe I’m getting my groove back after-all.
Here’s the week at hand…
Screenings
INSIDE OUT – Yep, “again”. And for what it’s worth I count myself as a fan of LAVA.
DOPE – So damned cool. More about his tomorrow.
JURASSIC WORLD – Ah, so that’s what everyone’s been going on about.
Streaming/Blu-Rays/DVD’s I’ve Never Seen
EASTER PARADE – I wanted this to be better.
IT’S ALWAYS FAIR WEATHER – This too, but at least here I got Kelley doing a number in roller skates.
Streaming/Blu-Rays/DVD’s I’ve Seen Before
MR. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON – One of my mom’s favorites.
THE SAPPHIRES – Which, of course, led to a lot of soul music on the iPod this week.
THE TRUMAN SHOW – For podcasting purposes.
WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE – Is it my imagination, or is this film underappreciated?
ANNIE HALL – In the end we all need the eggs…
First-Timers: Spy, Pretty Baby the “College Boy” video by Indochine directed by Xavier Dolan, my Blind spot assignment in The Long Goodbye, and episodes 3-5 of Twin Peaks.
Re-watches: Gone Girl and Stick It.
I’d probably like it if I saw it, but I can’t get over how stupid the whole trained raptor thing sounds to actually watch JP4.
First time:
Dr. Moreau’s House of Pain
Birdman
Zombie High
and I re-watched:
Cheech & Chong’s Next Movie
