As I type, it’s just past midnight and I’m just getting in from a monthly gathering of the Toronto FIlm Geeks.
At this particular moment, I’m in a rather excited mood since this particular gathering brought out a lot of new faces! We’ve been getting together for a long time now, and I cannot remember the last time I saw this much fresh blood. If you were one of the ones who dropped by, it was great to meet you, and we all hope you come back!
Much of the conversation was, of course, dominated by TIFF. With that in mind, today’s trailer is apropos – especially since it was one of my most anticipated festival selections. Give a look at Vallee’s latest, and drop by in a little over a week for my reactions to my TIFF screening…
I’m often wary of Oscar-bait films but this might be good and I like what Matthew McConaughey is doing as of late. He’s really taking some risks and actually doing some things that shows that he’s a great actor.
In this case, I’m most ramped up to see a new film by Jean-Marc Vallee. Two of his features – CAFE DE FLORE and C.R.A.Z.Y. – are TIFF selections that I most regret missing during the festival.
