Ryan McNeilA few months ago, it felt strange to think about 2014 in animation and realize that it was going to be a year without Pixar. Say what you will about some of their recent efforts (most of which, I’d probably argue with you), but it’s hard to deny that the studio is still a giant in the genre. A year without them now almost feels like a year without Marvel.
Oddly enough, there seems to be so many other seemingly-wonderful offerings from the other studios that we may not even feel a void! Like many of you, I am super-stoked for HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON on Friday. Along with that, we have BIG HERO 6 from Disney to look forward to in the winter. Besides those, there’s also The BOX TROLLS still to come this autumn…now this!
Is it just me, or has this year shaped up to be something of a concentrated dose of great animation?
Stunning. Super excited for this and all the other animated movies of the year.
Seeing this trailer on the big-screen before DRAGON last weekend just got me all the more excited.
