Y’know, five years ago if you’d told me that I’d begin to dig Ben Affleck as a director, I’d probably have thought you were nuts.
But here we are two films later – one which I loved and one which I liked – and I must admit, the man has chops. Maybe it was all of those things he picked up while working on REINDEER GAMES…or perhaps he watched what Michael Bay did on ARMAGEDDON and took is as the chapter on what not to do.
However he learned what he did, the guy has chops, and based on these glimpses of his next project, it might just be possible that I start officially calling myself a “Ben Affleck Fan” before long.
I think this looks really good. Ben Affleck has surprised me as a filmmaker and is starting to improve as an actor. He’s won me over again. He should keep doing what he’s doing and stay away from Michael Bay.
Oh come on…you can’t deny how much better this film would seem if Affleck was involved in a love triangle with Josh Hartnett and Kate Beckinsale…
This looks soo good. Who would’ve thought I’d be looking forward to a Ben Affleck film this bad?! The whole concept is brilliant.
I’ll be really curious to see how it all plays given that this clip goes from heavy to comical to heavy again…
…that and I think I’m overdue for a GONE BABY GONE rewatch.
I failed to include this on the best ensemble cast of the year but I like the trailer. I’ve been impressed w/ Affleck’s previous work, especially Gone Baby Gone.
Affleck’s really been kicking it up a notch behind the camera, proving himself to be a true talent in the director’s chair. Guy’s great. And I didn’t even love The Town all that much. I just thought it was well-directed.
And this is a story that’s too weird to not be told. Combine that with Affleck and the cast and I’m in.
